Heaven's Gate: The Cult of Cults

Update: 2021-06-036

From the 1975 disappearance of 20 people in small-town Oregon to the 1997 mass suicide of 39 people all wearing the same pair of Nike Decades in San Diego, “Heaven’s Gate: The Cult of Cults” sketches the evolution of the UFO-worshipping cult that mystified Americans in the last quarter of the 20th century. I usually love listening to Gillian and Patricks enthusiastic discussions, but in this episode (especially in the first 15 minutes), it sounds like they're on speed or something like that. The intensity, volume and speed of their conversation (especially Patricks volum and Gillians speed) is just plain tiring to listen to to. I had to stop the episode midway through, after literally getting a massive headache. It's a shame, really, because the theme was really interesting, and the show could have been very entertaining, had it not been for all the shouting, super loud hysterical laughter, and so fast talking that it becomes distracting.
