Description
This is part 1 of 3 episodes where we sat down with Hugh and Caroline Sisson from Heavy Seas Beer. We wanted to hear the origin story of how this local craft brewery turned into a regional brewery. Hugh was doing craft beer before it was cool and, in many ways, watched the laws and the industry catch up to his ideas. He's quick to say that others inspired him, but we feel his pirate's attitude toward business has left a mark of its own as well.
Hugh and his daughter Caroline showed us the new taproom and shared their story with us. It included family, cannons, MD laws, sailing metaphors, pirate accents, and of course, beer tasting.
