On September 8, 2023, Morocco was hit by a devastating 6.8 magnitude earthquake, claiming the lives of 3,000 so far. This tragedy takes me back to the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria just six months ago. Amidst this sorrow, we witness the brilliance of humanity as international rescue teams, including Taiwan's squad, are on standby to help.
Reflecting on my time in Turkiye I, along with students and my two kids, visited the hardest-hit area - Antakya. This ancient city, once thriving, now bears the scars of disaster.
Today's #HerStoryYourStory features the tale of Touria Chaoui, Morocco's first female pilot. Her legacy and story continue to inspire despite her life being tragically cut short at 19.
