Q&A

  • What were the initial circumstances surrounding Kathy Wanger's death?

Kathy Wanger was found unresponsive in her home, and her death was initially attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning from a faulty water heater.

  • What evidence led to the suspicion surrounding Mark Wanger's involvement in Kathy's death?

The investigation revealed inconsistencies in Mark's story, including the lack of a malfunctioning water heater, his unusual lack of anger, and the discovery of microscopic exhaust residue in the ductwork.

  • What was the "hose theory" and how did it contribute to Mark's arrest?

The "hose theory" suggested that Mark used a hose to introduce carbon monoxide from a vehicle or generator into the furnace, which then traveled through the ductwork to Kathy's bedroom. This theory, supported by evidence, led to Mark's arrest for murder.
