How Do I Know I am Not Part of the Family of God?
Being self-righteous (vv. 20–22)
Being consumed with earthly things(vv. 23, 24)
Being unbelieving (v. 24)
Being willfully ignorant (vv. 25–29)
How Can I know I am Part of the Family of God?
Belief in Jesus Christ as Messiah and Son of God
Perseverance in obedience to Scripture. “Abide” A genuine believer holds fast, obeys, and practices Jesus’ teaching.
Changed life – no longer slave to sin (vs. 36)
Love for Jesus Christ (vs. 42)
