On episode 28 of the Chicago Psychology Podcast, Dr. Hoye speaks with Dr. Michael Yapko, PhD. Dr. Yapko is a well-respected author and trainer of clinical hypnosis. He is the author of Tranceworks, a authoritative textbook on clinical hypnosis that is used in many academic settings.
Dr. Yapko discusses his interest in and development as a psychologist who uses hypnosis as a main modality in psychotherapy. He also discusses his work on the treatment of depression. We also cover the topic of hypnosis and mindfulness, and the differences and similarities between the two and their uses in therapy.
