When Kara Hammes couldn’t find the kind of vacation rental experience she was dreaming about, she didn’t wait around — she built it herself.

With a background in corporate life and science (and exactly zero experience in hospitality), Kara launched a new concept in Airbnb rentals — larger, welcoming spaces designed for groups to actually vacation together. 

Oh, and she launched it during COVID. Now she owns and operates Brown County Barn Burner.
