ING 10 - 'Partners in faith', Presbyterian and Roman Catholic congregations working together in Belfast
Description
'Partners in faith', Presbyterian and Roman Catholic congregations working together in Belfast
------------------------
(Archive show from 1993)
Dr. William Rutherford (Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, Belfast - since deceased) and Fr. Gerry Reynolds (Clonard Monastery, Belfast), whose two churches have been working together since 1982, discuss the 11 year relationship between their churches.
(The interview with author, Roger Mitchell, from England, which we had planned for this slot, has gone irretrievably missing. So, we thought that instead we'd treat you to a wee bit of the original live FM show, from way back in 1993 - when the troubles in Northern Ireland were showing no sign of coming to an end. We've even left in a little sample of the UK Network News from the end of that show, which will give you the authentic flavour of that period - an archive sample of the (originally 1-hour) faith-based radio show from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The original one hour show was produced in 1993, but outdated/irrelevant material has been removed to leave original interview and music - apart from a little bit of UK Network News from June 1993.
(Fr. Gerry Reynolds died in November 2015)
