Description

For Felipe Puperi, Brazilian singer-songwriter and producer, music has been a constant presence throughout his life. Growing up in southern Brazil, he was shaped by rock influences and eventually felt the need to migrate to São Paulo to diversify his sound, where he founded Tagua Tagua. Currently touring the United States with his third album RAIO (Wonderwheel Recordings), he speaks with Rocío Santos before hitting the stage in Chicago at Lincoln Hall on Saturday, July 26, alongside Austin, Texas indie rockers White Denim.

The artist discusses his free-spirited creative process on RAIO, the influence of disco through the iconic Tim Maia, his bilingual approach to songwriting—blending English and Portuguese lyrics—and how taking his music abroad connects audiences to his distinctive fusion of neo-soul, Tropicália, psychedelia, and disco.
