Over 1.3 Million Indian soldiers fought as British empire Army in world war-1 out of which more than 75,000 were killed and 65,000 wounded. India was the first country outside Europe to send its troops for world war-1. In this episode I will discuss India’s contribution for allied forces in World war-1. Few of the battles which brave but untrained Indians fought and how it helped Allied forces in key theatres of war in France and Mesopotamia. I will also discuss the ramifications in social, economic and political sectors of India as a result of war.
