Description

Honourable, naive samurai try to fight the malevolent Mongols, who start their invasion campaign on Japan by invading the island of Tsushima. That, at least, is roughly the content of the game "Ghost of Tsushima". But what exactly is behind this code of the samurai? Were they really an honourable class? How did the invasion take place? What significance did it have for the history of technology, especially in terms of Mongol warfare and fleet battles? We want to answer all these questions about warfare and representation as best we can together with Japanologist Angela Schottenhammer and underwater archaeologist Jun Kimura.
