After the birth of Jesus, Mary and Joseph were still in Bethlehem, which was near Jerusalem, so they took Jesus to Jerusalem to dedicate Him at the Temple. Luke 2:22 says, "...They brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord." This was an important and powerful act of obedience by Joseph and Mary — one that you will see actually demonstrates a practice we as believers are called to do in our daily Christian walk.
