This week's guest John Wood, Jr.. John is a national leader for Braver Angels, a former nominee for congress, and a noted writer and speaker on subjects including racial and political reconciliation.

In the first section of the interview we discuss the causes of the political polarisation we're seeing across the west, and specifically in the US. In the second part we discuss the Black Lives Matter movement, the need for nuance, and the historical and structural issues facing black Americans today.

This episode is part of our series of shows focussed on the Black Lives Matter movement. Watch the first episode in that series, with Associate Prof. Wilfred Reilly, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bt88... , or listen to it as a podcast.
