Description
"Just As You Can't Be A Little Bit Pregnant, You Can't Be A Little Bit Of A Terrorist... Either You Are Or You Aren't".
--------
What's up everybody. This is Green Arrow and happy Martin Luther King day before I was named Green Arrow. I got an idea for the path that I wanted my life to take. And I like to think that because I did the right thing and pursued it, I was given the name Green Arrow, trying to be the hero, well, today's episode is very long and it's very personal, but wanting to get this out for a long time. And it's kind of a coincidence that it's out on Martin Luther King's day. And I'm going to start this episode with a clip from Noam Chomsky, from a podcast called what can humans understand how the mind works.
And he was asked basically about. How people develop language and things like that. And it's really a sad story, but it really touches me. I wanted to put it out for a long time because it just moves me. He's talking about this young woman , who has passed and rest in peace. Her name was Jeannie and she was abused by her father.
And. I didn't know her father obviously, and I didn't know Jeannie, but when you're talking about someone and the metaphor that I'm using breaks down, I don't think it's really fair of me to say that Jeannie, her father was a terrorist, but that's how a terrorist acts is, is someone who is consciously hurting someone psychotic, consciously hurting someone, consciously hurting another person.
It's a really sad story. And like I said, it moves me enough to want to put it on this podcast. It is about just under three minutes long and I hope you follow it. If you can't, you can skip forward. This is kind of inspired by NAS' "I Gave You Power". I've always looked at it as a metaphor for how the ego works.
So like I said, this is long and it's personal, but it's long. It sounds like it's a monologue because it's just me talking for about an hour, but actually Diamondeed and I were on a zoom call and he was gesturing, listening.
And also he started playing guitar midway through. And we didn't want to include any of the guitar on this, so we didn't include it. So it does sound like a monologue, but he does come on and talk after I'd been in for an hour or so. And we break down what's going on as far as this chaos in the world.
And I could summarize it a little bit more, but I just ask you to listen to it. I was going to tag NAS and Primo and Chuck, cause we do talk about "Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos", but it's too long, so if you hear it and you think there's valuable and some of these people pass it on to them, if not, it's just an appreciation of nausea's poetry and how he's really describing, at least as far as how I see this metaphor, how the ego works and what is terrorism.
So without further ado, I'm going to pass the mic, so to speak over to Nome, and then I'll just cut right into the rest of this discussion. So once again, happy Martin Luther King day and peace on behalf of Chase, Diamondseed and I... thanks.
