Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was a towering figure in India's struggle for independence. While the official narrative suggests that he died in a plane crash in 1945, this version of events has long been mired in controversy.
Far from embracing transparency, the Nehru-led government not only declined to conduct a thorough investigation into Bose’s death but actively worked to suppress facts. Declassified documents and credible reports suggest that the Indian government placed Bose's family under surveillance—an unsettling move in a country that had just emerged into freedom. These actions have only deepened suspicions that the truth about Netaji was deliberately hidden from the public. While conclusive proof remains elusive, the preponderance of evidence points to a more complex and concealed post-1945 life for Bose—one that remains one of the most enigmatic chapters in modern Indian history.

About the Speaker:
Chandrachur Ghose is an author, researcher, and commentator with expertise in history, economics, and environmental issues. A graduate of Visva-Bharati University and the University of Sussex, he co-authored the acclaimed book Conundrum: Subhas Bose’s Life After Death. Ghose is also a co-founder of Mission Netaji, a research and advocacy group that played a key role in the declassification of classified files related to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Anuj Dhar is a noted author and investigative researcher who has spent over a decade exploring the unresolved mystery of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s disappearance. He has written several books on the subject, including the bestseller India’s Biggest Cover-Up, which played a key role in sparking the movement to declassify files related to Bose. Dhar is also the founder trustee of Mission Netaji, an initiative to uncover suppressed truths and challenge long-standing official narratives.
