Description

One of the most compelling [unsolved] cases in Texas history occurred in the small town of Waco, TX. Three lives were inexplicably taken from this world, and 4 men were put on trial for their deaths. Was this a witch hunt by a dogged detective or did they really take the lives of the three youths? Share your thoughts with me in our facebook discussion group.

If you’re interested, please check out the Texas Monthly’s article “The Murders at the Lake.” I would also recommend the book Careless Whispers which won the Edgar award in 1986. This book was written by Carlton Stowers and had Officer Simons as the protagonist. It’s a great way to see the case the way Officer Simons did.

I knew Jill's sister when I lived in Waxahachie. This was horrific, and she was really traumatized. She was supposed to be with Jill at the lake that day, but she told her she couldn't go. She still wore Jill's necklace, which was found on her that day. Super sad story....
