Description

The holidays can be a very exciting time of year, but they can also be especially busy and sometimes rather stressful. As a leader, what considerations should you have when balancing your business priorities, your people’s schedules, and yourself? I invited one of TLCG’s most applauded guests back to the show to discuss these very issues. Rocky Romanella worked for many years a high-ranking executive at UPS. He certainly understands the pace of the “peak season” that was the holiday season for the mail delivery company he managed. His compassion and experience help shape this episode into required listening for leaders this time of year.

What We Cover:

  • Encouraging staff to take appropriate amounts of leave before the busiest seasons
  • How leaders influence the outlook of employees
  • Recognizing when employees need extra support this time of year
  • Navigating holiday parties gracefully

Minisode 17: What Nobel Nominated Research Can Tell You About How Your Work
In these minisodes, we often ask you to be creative, courageous, or compassionate. To practice what I preach, I am trying to creatively and courageously help you learn a little bit more about how you can improve your business practices by sharing some of the feedback I ha about mine! Two weeks ago, I interviewed Jarrod Haning and he shared some unbelievable tips to maximize productivity. I implemented some of what he said…and it worked. Therefore, I thought we should have another conversation. When we did, he let me take an assessment that he gives to all of his clients. It is based on Nobel nominated research with the intent of helping find business blind spots in individuals. In a feat of courage, I am sharing the praises and the criticisms of my processes with you on this episode. There’s plenty of general tips that anyone can benefit from. As new leaders, this is also an opportunity to hear someone give feedback and her another person receive it. Let me know what you think! What we cover: How stubbornness cannot beat a bad strategy The dangers of being too people focused and the dangers of being too task focused How to maximize your time to be more productive and more valuable If you are interested in personal or organizational coaching, email us at info@theleadershipcoachinggroup.com. Getting Real About Money with Darryl Lyons
Managing money is vital for business leadership and self-leadership. People are often uncomfortable talking about money but as we see an extreme increase in school loans and general debt suffocating many millennials, it’s more apparent than ever that we cannot ignore the topic.   Today’s guest is financial management expert, Darryl Lyons. Darryl makes the topic of money very approachable because he understands how complex the conversation is. He grew up with the financial struggle of his father losing his job, selling their home, and having to do with very little in his early years. Since then, he has grown a very successful financial management firm, authored several books, and fulfills his life mission of helping the middle class live optimistically and financially securely into their sunset years.   What we cover: Why fear is an ineffective motivator for wealth management How some people seem to thrive financially regardless of where they are while others seem to be stuck no matter the opportunities that are presented to them Money challenges unique to the middle class     If you are interested in personal or organizational coaching, email us at info@theleadershipcoachinggroup.com.
