There are really certain things that have to happen to move beyond codependency. I go through 6 of them in today's episode.
- Admitting you're codependent, or have traits and behaviors
- How much are you relinquishing power? This is evidence of victim mindset.
- Noticing when you complain, whine, get angry and resentful. These are all clues you're avoiding conflict, boundaries and self care. (more on boundaries in episode 54)
- At some point you're going to have to face shame and guilt (more on shame in episode 80)
- Look at family patterns. Notice. Process in a journal, a mature friend or a qualified therapist or coach. (more on this in episode 14)
- Try something new. Something you've not tried yet.
