In this episode we are going to be talking about ChemSex. What it is, how it affects us and what we can do to look after ourselves if we are engaging in it.
To help us with that discussion, we have a fantastic guest in Soozie Carmichael.
She has 12 years’ experience of working in addictions and is passionate about harm reduction.
Did you know that historically, psychoactive substances have been used by (i) priests in religious ceremonies ; (ii) healers for medicinal purposes or (iii) the masses, in a socially acceptable way (such as alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine). Our ancestors found ways to make more powerful concoctions easier to take.
he problem of loss of control associated with substances, indicating today's concept of addiction, was already being discussed in the 17th century .
We know that drugs have been around since forever .
More recently with technological progress, sex is available when ever we want it thanks to mobile/cell phones and their cameras. Together with apps and the internet, sex and group sex is now available more than ever before.
