Description

In May of 2014, a married couple went to check in on their elderly neighbors, who lived alongside the scenic Lake Oconee. Inside the older couple's house, they would find one of the most gruesome crime scenes of all-time, which kicked off a terrifying mystery that remains unanswered today...

I hate that these stories never have closure

I have a theory! Outlandish but feasible - Hitman hired to kill one of the other affluent neighbors but erred and went to the wrong house?

I think Russell was targeted by someone he knew from the past with a grudge and a sick mind, and it was planned and carried out by that person alone. The decapitation had a 2-fold purpose...one, to hide the evidence, the bullet....and two, to completely satisfy his personal lust for revenge and total conquest over Russell. He came in by boat because he figured that there's too many people that can see cars and too many ways for authorities to track vehicles. Russ's wife was mostly collateral damage but the killer took some personal satisfaction in terrorizing her by killing her and dumping her body. He probably buried the head in a remote location, not his backyard, because he's not insane or stupid. I like podcasts with an ending. I hope that there will be a quick resolution to this case.

it probably had a mastermind behind it, and whoever wanted them killed didn't even had to do it. I think it was a group thing because the scenario was so perfectly planned and organised, and perhaps decapitation in this case meant revenge or ritual..

I can not believe you still have not addressed plagiarism claims . It is clear these claims are true there have been too many podcasters telling the same story , not only have you not put your saucers down but you have basically copy pasted the scripts of others , that have done extensive research! you have even used there personal opinions as your own! All you need to do is acknowledge this and say you will do better. you have a platform to do great things you can turn this around and continue to tell stories that need to be told

I TOTALLY thought of Keys before Brit said it. Or a Keys-like killer. It was definitely not random.

Mono Dilemma Agree and the phony planned banter makes no sense. Why are there so few decent female crime podcast? They all sound like gossipy sorority girls. The one I can think of off the top of my head that was good was the one with an Australian woman.

The cops should keep their focus very close to the family. I suspect it has something to do with the wife and her extra curricular activities.

Riese Carden That was making me cringe every time. Iโ€™m from Atlanta and itโ€™s like when people say Ponsay de Leeown for Ponce.
