Man Pleads Guilty to Fatal Speeding Crash

Justin Clarke-Samuel, a 41-year-old man from Woodford Green, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal collision with Yubin Tamang, a 20-year-old pedestrian. Clarke-Samuel was speeding in a 30 mph zone, driving his BMW at over 60 mph, when he struck Tamang on Redbridge Lane East in Ilford. Tamang later died from his injuries. Clarke-Samuel was also charged with dangerous driving in Camden, Islington, and Hackney, and failing to stop and driving while impaired by drink or drugs. He will be sentenced on February 12th, 2023. Detective Inspector Mark Braithwaite expressed sympathy for Tamangs family and emphasized the importance of following speed limits and drink-driving laws.
