Description

Former Marist Brother, Malcolm John Dickson, pleads guilty to indecently assaulting a sixteen-year-old homeless boy in 1980, forty-five years after the abuse occurred. Dickson, now eighty-five, committed the crimes while working as a lay teacher at Marist Brothers College in Pearce between 1980 and 1981. He pleaded guilty to one count of indecent assault, encompassing four separate acts, after initially denying the charges. Dickson has a previous conviction for sexually abusing a nine-year-old boy in Queensland in 2001. He remains out on bail, and sentencing is scheduled to be determined by a Supreme Court registrar.
