In this episode, we cover the unusual case of Mark Palmer, a construction worker from Bedfordshire, who vanished in 2019 whilst working overseas in the town of Ontinyent, Spain. 

Mark was last seen by his colleagues at 10:30 am on the morning of April 27th, a Saturday. Mark had a history of going AWOL for up to 24 hours at a time, so when he failed to return on Sunday, they weren’t immediately concerned. By the time Monday rolled round, there was still no sign of him, so they called the police. 

This episode hears from Mark’s sister Claire, who explains her brother’s long history of mental health issues and how they may have played a factor in his disappearance. She talks about travelling to Spain with her husband and the rest of Mark’s family and how within a matter of hours she went from studying for a PHD, to coordinating a sprawling search effort with dozens of volunteers.
