On this edition of Maryland's News This Week with Robert Lang the topics included Governor Larry Hogan's declaration of a state of emergency on the opioid crisis; the federal indictment of seven Baltimore City Police officers; and a new program to provide tax assistance to low and moderate income people. The program included highlights of a March 1, news conference from Governor Larry Hogan, as well as interviews with Frederick resident Bob Koslowski, and Baltimore County Delegate Eric Bromwell, chairman of a House of Delegates task force on opioid abuse. The program also included highlights of a March 1, news conference from U.S Attorney Rod Rosenstein, a report from WBAL's Phil Yacuboski, and an interview with Retired Maryland State Police Major Neill Franklin, executive director of the Law Enforcement Action Partnership. The program also included an interview with Brandi Neiland, executive director of the 211 United Way Hotline. The program concluded with tributes to Episcopal Bishop Felton May, journalist Lou Davis, and Tom Hall, director of the Baltimore Choral Arts Society.
