Masterclass: Decolonising Education
Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world”. Over the past few decades, technology has advanced exponentially, and calls have been made for the abolition of socioeconomic class hierarchies. The South African student protests for a decolonised higher education space, #FeesMustFall and #RhodesMustFall, increased the call for fee reductions and reduced fees. A decolonised curriculum is a complex concept involving much controversy about how it should be framed, described, and/or implemented. To discuss this further we are now joined by professor Puleng Lenkabula who is the vice chancellor of the University of South Africa.
