Place your hand on your heart,
And declare yourself ready.
Ready to connect to your calm.
Ready to release the chaos of the storm.
Ready to sleep.
And then gently let your hand fall back where it feels most comfortable,
As you snuggle into your bed.
In and out as your body relaxes.
Surrendering to the circular rhythm of your body.
Relax your cheeks,
Lower your shoulders,
Let your arms and your legs melt,
And soften your belly.
Observe the storm.
Maybe it's a swirling tornado of thoughts, picking up all your worries and fears as it travels across the land.
Maybe it’s a giant ocean of dust and sand covering the deserts of your soul.
Maybe it's a downpour of pain and suffering you see around you or in yourself that saturates you.
And let yourself observe this storm.
Whenever you feel yourself getting swept into the storm,
Just come back to your breath,
Allowing the constant and reliable rhythm of your breathing to soothe you,
And remind you that you are not the storm.
Breathe in peace with every inhale,
Inviting its coolness to travel throughout your body,
Reaching more and more of your cells on each breath in.
Let your breathing cleanse you,
As you release the noise of the storm,
And the raw emotions it creates in you on every breath out.
Breathe in peace,
Breathe out the storm.
Breathe in calm,
Breathe out chaos.
Feel the hum.
The warm, glowing space inside of you.
The calm at your core.
This is the space the storm cannot touch,
The place where only love exists.
Let yourself live here,
In this beautiful space,
As the storm rages on outside of you.
Here you are safe.
Here you are home.
Here you are love.
And the storm cannot touch you.
So let go,
And surrender to deep sleep.
