Meta makes significant strides in clean energy, signing deals for nearly one gigawatt of solar power, bringing their total solar contracts this year to over three gigawatts. The tech giant turns to solar power to meet its rising energy needs, especially with the rollout of AI technology. Meta secures two projects in Louisiana and a larger deal in Texas, with the Texas project feeding into the local grid and offsetting some of the company's power use. However, the use of environmental attribute certificates, or renewable energy certificates, is questioned by experts, as they may not effectively reduce emissions and could misrepresent tech companies' carbon footprint.
