I'm biased; this book was inspired by my great-grandson, whose parents wrote it. I see it as a great addition to the world's library of books with brown-skinned kid illustrations, but the text is perfectly appropriate for any baby, anywhere, so I'm giving it to friends with fair-skinned babies. It bubbles over with the joy of welcoming new life into the family.

I received this beautiful book yesterday and cannot wait to add it to my family library and the library at my Montessori preschool. Whether you want to talk to your children about a new baby, gift it to an expecting mama, or bring more diverse literature into your family library- this heartfelt book and its sweet illustrations fit the bill. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the additions to the series. I highly recommend the board book version as my 3.5 year olds are taken with the illustrations and already love 'reading' it to their baby brother- thankfully it's quite durable!
