I was 21 years old when my Dad told me my mother had passed away. And after hearing the news, I left immediately and got blackout drunk that night. I spent the next 18 months drowning myself in drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. I didn’t even recognize myself any more. So I made a decision to turn my life around, otherwise I would’ve ended up dead or in jail. Sometimes our most painful moments in life can become our biggest catalysts for growth. This is my story of how I got here today after losing my mother.
