In life and sports, we are all judged on who we are in the biggest moments and for NFL players, now is that moment with only a few teams left in the final push to see who plays in the Super Bowl. After a wild first round, we head into the divisional playoffs and Ryan, Channing and Fred are making their picks, talking about the team's still left standing and of course Channing felt vindicated after all year of not believing in Dallas and seeing them upset by the Green Bay Packers.
Before getting into the weekend ahead, the guys reflect on our last conversation with Dez Bryant and being grateful for him opening up, sharing his perspective based on his experiences and how he uses them to create a better life for his children and future generations. The impact from his words touched so many and helped lead the guys into a conversation on discipline and parenting, as they talk about how important it is to set an example for the future generations. Whether it is on TV or in a line at Starbucks, signs of respect go a long way.
With the Dallas Cowboys’ loss during the Wild Card round of the playoffs, the guys speak on Dak’s season and agree that he has simply not performed in the bigger moments. Channing explains it the best way he can, which has the guys laughing in tears as he puts Dallas' post season success in "Channing" terms. Many thought this season was the one for the Cowboys to take the next step, but they are entering the offseason with more confusion than answers. Ryan emphasizes how players like Tom Brady were able to focus on the field when the spotlight was brightest and says that Dak was seeing the world instead. The conversation shifts to the NFL’s greatest quarterback where they debate the importance Brady and Bill Belichik each had on the Patriots.
