New York City is embracing multilingualism with a city-wide initiative to make services more accessible. The NYPD is also updating its policy to allow officers to use translation apps for clear communication in urgent situations. The New York City Public Schools are developing a new app called Hello for real-time translation and interpretation in the top twelve languages spoken by school families. This initiative aims to foster a more inclusive and connected community.
