NanaOS Podcast | Does Money Make You Happy? | Kegan Emms
Update: 2020-10-09
Description
Following last week's brain dump, Kegan and I further discussed the elephant in the room.
Money and lots of it. Does it make you happy?
Kegan has been privileged to have worked for some of the wealthiest people in the world. The 1% as we may call them. He has had the opportunity to observe and understand what most of us have never had the opportunity to do.
One of the biggest events that shaped Kegan was going through a back injury where doctors suggested implanting plates in his back made Kegan re-evaluate what money and life meant to him.
In our discussion, we covered the following:
- The pros and cons of having so much money
- How hitting rock bottom influenced Kegan's view on money
- How he recovered from a career-ending back injury
- The importance of having an end game for your money
- Being sure of yourself in a world that convinces you otherwise
- Why we need to pursue hobbies outside of work
- How social media gets you to buy more by playing with your emotions
- Why we need to be grounded in the age of social media
- How changing careers made me happier
- How podcasts changed our lives
- What we would do if money didn't matter
-------------------------------------------
Kegan left for France to work on the Yachts which were owned by some of the world's elite.
His adventures over the last 8 years have taken him all over the world as well as provided him with a stable income to live a good life when his time at sea is done.
His exposure to the rich and famous made him question whether money really makes you happy.
