Josh Hanes, the CEO and President of Uplift Aerospace, has been instrumental in establishing the company as a significant player in commercial space missions since its inception in 2019. Uplift Aerospace became public in 2021 through a reverse merger, a testament to its growth under his leadership.

A graduate with honors in Physics from the University of Utah in 2016, Hanes began his career in a Quantum Computer Research lab, focusing on Atomic Force Microscopy. His thesis compared nuclear thermal propulsion to traditional chemical rockets, demonstrating his early interest in aerospace innovation.

Transitioning from academia to private equity, Hanes co-founded a real estate investment fund, successfully raising over $4 million. His diverse professional experience also includes serving as the COO of Reef Life Foundation, where he led reef restoration projects in the Caribbean.

Motivated by the advancements in private space exploration, Hanes founded Uplift Aerospace to provide commercial access to space missions and astronaut training. Under his direction, the company has ventured into mixed reality technology, creating educational programs that simulate astronaut experiences to enhance STEM learning.
