Norah Jones is a Grammy award-winning American singer, songwriter, and pianist. She sits down with the Armchair Expert to discuss the trajectory of her career, her commitment to music and dealing with public criticism. Hyperbolic language attempts not to minimize past events, but to maximize the current predicament. The ego always seeks to make mountains from molehills. The intention in that context, is not to deminish others' suffering, but to escalate ones own suffering. And sometimes it's fun and funny. It adds color and contrast to stories and keeps our past follies in mind. Nora kicks ass. Sorry to all the beaten children out there. 😒

she seems like such a beautiful human being. I love that first song she played! it was very pretty. my only complaint is that it wasn't long enough.

Jessica DeTray Hall "Don't know what it means" obviously she performed an acoustic version so it's more melancholy in the podcast

"Sold down the river," in my personal understanding, which is by no means an authority, could be swapped with "stabbed in the back." I believe it implies betrayal. If so, I would say it is derogatory towards those who engaged in buying and selling humans. Hopefully it can be agreed upon that those who treat other people like property earn negative associations (at the least.)
