In the in-between state of the now and the not-yet, we usually face various predicaments that plague us as human beings. These predicaments can even push some of us to states of hopelessness and despair concerning life; states of nihilism. However, for the Christian, the call is contrary to this. Mark shows us in this passage that the sufferings of this world do not negate the promised glory in Christ in His coming Kingdom. John Musyimi, in this sermon, elucidates that the glory of Christ grounds hopeful obedience to Christ!
