The film is intense, but not in a loud way. It builds pressure through smart choices and tough situations. The writing is sharp. The characters feel human. Even the action scenes are believable — short, sharp, and scary.
I’d say this is one of Rami Malek’s best roles. You can see the sadness in his eyes. But you also see strength.
If you want a thriller that makes you think and care at the same time, The Amateur is worth watching.
