Description
Morning:
Psalm 89:19 ; Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 43:11 ; Acts 4:12 ; Philippians 2:7–9; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 2:9; Hebrews 2:14
“I have granted help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.”
“I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.”—There is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.—“There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Mighty God.—[He] made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name.—We see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.—Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things.
