Nikki Ruffin- Smith, host of Nya's Project, discusses with Denise Joy Thompson, her journey of growing up in Selma Alabama. From her childhood to attending college, enlisting in the Army, earning her commission an as Army Officer, retiring and becoming a business owner and the creator of Nya's Project, Nikki has consistently overcome any personal difficulties and societal barriers which could have derailed her journey of self-perseverance, achievement and success. Nikki is living her passion and purpose with Nya's Proejct, providing books, workbooks and curriculum to parents and educators. Nikki speaks with parent and educators groups to ensure all children are exposed to and encouraged to excel in the areas of STEM-A, science, technology, engineering, mathematics and the arts.
