Description

At 8 years old, Pastor Wilfredo “Choco” de Jesús was abandoned by his father, failed the third grade for not being able to read or write, and found himself navigating the gang-filled landscape of inner-city Chicago.

But through all this, God was faithful. Pastor Choco overcame and used what he learned along the way to serve the Kingdom of God.

Pastor Choco is the former senior pastor of New Life Covenant Ministries, founder of the Chicago Dream Center, author of “Love Them Anyway” and “Move into More”, the first Hispanic executive in the U. S. Assemblies of God, and was named as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential men.

In this episode, they discuss unconditional Christ-like love, and how we can take the pain that molds us and use it to become better fathers, uncles, husbands, grandfathers, and sons of God.

  • “I should have never been on Time Magazine as Time 100. And that just tells me, Ken, that God has a purpose. And can I just say to your viewers that God is in the business of using unusual people.” - Pastor Choco

  • “The church should always be present, no matter what…and not be afraid of what's going on in culture.” - Pastor Choco
