The biggest shocker of the weekend was the unranked West Virginia Mountaineers upsetting the No. 22 Houston Cougars on the road, 45-35. The other major upset saw the Texas Tech Red Raiders dominate a struggling Kansas State team, winning 43-20 in Manhattan to bolster their own standing as a contender. Meanwhile, the Kansas Jayhawks celebrated their homecoming with a decisive 38-21 victory over Oklahoma State, leaning on a 232-yard ground attack to improve to 5-4.

In a defensive showcase, the Baylor Bears throttled UCF, 30-3, holding the Knights to just a field goal and showcasing a stout defense that is now a serious factor in the league.
