POSTCAST: Bats WAKE UP, Not Enough As Kodai Senga And Luke Weaver STRUGGLE
Digest
The New York Mets suffered their fourth consecutive loss, falling below .500, primarily due to pitching issues from Kodai Senga and Luke Weaver. Senga's early struggles, marked by command problems and a high pitch count, were reminiscent of his previous season. Luke Weaver's performance also faltered, allowing crucial runs that sealed the Mets' 11-6 defeat against the A's. Despite these pitching woes, the offense showed signs of life with home runs from Boba Shett, Francisco Alvarez, and Jorge Polanco. However, these offensive sparks were not enough to overcome the team's overall struggles, raising concerns about key players and the team's trajectory before a challenging series against the Dodgers.

Show Notes
The bats woke up late for the New York Mets, but a rough start for Kodai Senga and a rough outing for Luke Weaver led to their fourth straight loss.
The Mets actually jumped out to a 1-0 lead in this one, courtesy of a Bo Bichette RBI single. That lead didn't last long, as the A's jumped all over Kodai Senga for seven runs in just 2.1 innings for the Mets starter.
They didn't roll over, however, as they scored two in the 5th, two in the 6th and got a solo home-run from Jorge Polanco, his first of the year, to cut the lead to 7-6.
But before the Mets could complete the comeback, the A's got some insurance runs off Luke Weaver, in his second straight rough outing.
Tomorrow, they'll try to avoid a sweep and the losing streak growing to 5 with Freddy Peralta on the bump.
