As terrorists carried out the worst such attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir – New Delhi unleashed a number of diplomatic measures against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), downsizing high commissions further and closing the border. With reprisal measures from Islamabad that include closing down its airspace – will the escalation over Pahalgam now become a military confrontation?
