Oggi insieme alle lighting designers Lara Elbaz e Maria Gildemontes parliamo di come la loro comune passione per l’ecologia, il social welfare e i diritti dell’uomo le abbia portate a sviluppare progetti d’illuminazione sensibili ai temi dell’architettura ma anche delle emozioni, della salute e dell’ambiente.

Partendo dalla convinzione che le azioni di ogni persona hanno un impatto molto forte sull’ecosistema, Lara e Maria hanno studiato le differenti filosofie che cercano di rispondere al problema del cambiamento climatico con l’obiettivo di ricercare un metodo in grado di ridurre l’impatto che i progetti illuminotecnici hanno nei confronti dell’ambiente. Il loro studio evidenzia che sono molti gli aspetti che devono essere considerati affinchè un progetto venga davvero considerato sostenibile, aspetti che vanno ben oltre il semplice risparmio energetico e coinvolgono quelli che Lara e Maria chiamano “The Pillars of Triple Bottom Line”: le persone, il pianeta e il profitto.

Today we talk with the lighting designers Lara Elbaz and Maria Gildemontes about how their love for light, ecology, social welfare, human rights and a common approach have united them in a unique project from which they design lighting projects sensible to architecture, emotions, health and the environment.

Lara and Maria both believe that our actions get an impact on the environment, so they study and research the different philosophies that try to respond the climate change problem and design a method aimed at reduce the impact that our profession has on the environment. Their research shows that there are a lot of aspects that go beyond the energy savings that must also be considered and integrated within the triple bottom line framework, providing answers to each of these pillars: People, Planet, Profit.
