Description

This is an overview of the case Lloyd v Google LLC [2021] UKSC 50, in which the Supreme Court considered group litigation in data protection and whether it is possible to claim for ‘loss of control’ of personal data for the purpose of the representative procedure. It was before Lord Reed, Lady Arden, Lord Sales, Lord Leggatt and Lord Burrows. The decision was unanimous and upheld Mr Justice Warby’s decision (now Lord Justice Warby) in the High Court.
