Chefs Ouita and Chris have their own proven paths through Kentucky's immense, noisy, greasy, happy, food-drenched state fair. They cherish the agricultural and food exhibits: mules and jacks, pigs, prize-winning country hams and sorghums, gorgeous made-from-scratch cakes, quantities of garden produce and foods from Kentucky's forests.
By tradition, each Ouita and Chris (and Willa) trip MUST begin with a Pat's Best Dressed (Hot) Dog, a Kentucky Fair institution since 1966.* (Chris and Ouita take theirs Chicago style.)

*Ouita's notes on Pat's Best Dressed Dogs, aka Pat's Footlongs: Founded in 1966- celebrating 50 years at the State Fair- Founded by N. Patrick Ising in 1968. He was a milk man and wanted to earn extra money to send his kids to school.
