Poetry Reading: The Soul's Expression by Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Description
It has always made me sad (and yes, a little bit bitter) that female writers aren't quite recognized as most writers. For the last month of year, December 2020, we will be reading poetry by the great Elizabeth Barrett Browning. I've read most of her poems during high school. It seemed just fitting to look back this year with this poet. We all need some Browning to end this year. Let's listen to the fourth poem of the month: "The Soul's Expression". Read by yours truly, here's a poem for your morning exercise or evening blues.
Poetry Reading on WEDNESDAYS. See you next week!
POET OF THE MONTH
Who is Elizabeth Barrett Browning? An English poet in the Victorian era, she has always been amazing. Fun fact about her: She has been writing since she was eleven. She is best known for her love poems, sonnets in Portuguese, and Aurora Leigh. What did you think about this week's poem? The year is almost ending (Finally, right?). What did your soul express this year?
