Psalm 108 is the first of three David psalms that kick off Book Five of the Psalter.
These David psalms show that while Israel had little hope of having a son of David on their earthly throne, they continued to trust in the Lord's promise for the coming of a greater anointed leader to deliver them, the Messiah, the Christ.
