Public Urged To 'Enjoy But Respect' Clare's Coast This Weekend
Update: 2025-10-25
Description
People across Clare and beyond are being urged to "enjoy but respect" the county's coastline over the bank holiday.
Kilrush RNLI are advising people to be aware of the risk of cold water shock and the presence of rip currents, which can be hard to identify in inclement weather.
When entering the water, swimmers are encouraged to wear a bright identifiable swim hat, adjust gradually to the temperature and be aware of their own ability in the water.
Kilrush RNLI Volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer, Charlie Glynn, says any situation has the potential to change in a heartbeat.
