A couple grieves the loss of their daughter in a house fire. A crack in the basement wall of their new house can not be repaired despite several attempts. They begin to hear the cries of their deceased daughter through that crack and meet a strange creature in their basement offering them the ability to bring their daughter back to life. The wife becomes obsessed with the trying to bring the daughter back to life.

Welcome to the terrifying world of your imagination. I have an unusual story for you about a crack in a cellar wall that resists all efforts to repair it. Despite all the learning through the ages, despite the world's great progress in physics, chemistry, biology, there are certain matters which cannot be explained by our computers or our wise men. Matters which may never have a logical explanation. Mr. Carroll, the contractor, is the first to admit that the crack in the wall was beyond him.

It was a cold, rainy, windy day when Paul and Nora Sanford laid their child to rest in Green Tree Cemetery. Despite all the soothing words of friends and relatives, Nora's despair was inconsolable. She felt that nothing could ease the pain in her heart caused by the loss of her only child.

Starring: Ann Costello, Robert Maxwell, Robert Dryden, Celeste Holm, Wesley Addy
