Rainier Beach High Schools boys basketball team, led by top recruit Tyran Stokes, showcased an impressive performance in their home opener, defeating Bishop Blanchet ninety to fifty-two. Stokes, a senior, put on a spectacular show, scoring twenty-seven points, grabbing fourteen rebounds, and making eight steals, among other achievements. Coach Mike Bethea praised Stokes charisma and team spirit, comparing him to NBA legend Magic Johnson. Stokes, who has narrowed his college choices to Kentucky, Oregon, and Kansas, is set to face Metro District rival ODea on Saturday.
